To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Chelmsford and the Neighbourhood  OLDER NEWS ITEMS 18th March 09 - MLCC Action Group presented to Essex County Council. The meeting went very well with Cllr Peter Martin, Deputy Leader of the Council and his team expressing how impressed they were with the amount of work that had gone into the Draft Business Plan so far. As you can understand they were unable to commit to anything at the meeting but undertook to read the Business Plan in detail and get back to us. Above all they now know how serious we are and the level of support we have from the community. CLICK Picture to DOWNLOAD Business Plan   They said at the meeting that they hadn't yet put in an appeal but were still considering their position. 11th May 09 - ECC Decision to appeal ! Essex County Council have decided to appeal AGAINST the previous planning decision for Moulsham Lodge Community Centre which allowed it to remain for Community Use - They say that this is to Safeguard the County Councils position and that it should not be seen as prejudicial to the Community Associations interest. Read into this what you may, rest assured the committee is doing everything it can to put the community centre right back where it belongs....with the community. Click ECC logo to go to their web site The Committee is now planning to update the community as far and wide as it possibly can - we will have a stall at St Luke’s Community Day on the 30th May from 10am to 4 pm come along and have a chat, put your name down to help or just enjoy the rest of the stalls.   We are now preparing a full Business Plan with the support of Chelmsford Borough Council, who want to keep it for Community use and with the support of other organisations as well as the community we will do our up most to re-establish the Community Centre for the purpose it was intended.   If you believe you can help us please use the "Contact Us" on the menu above or come along to the Community Day and have a chat.   MLCC in 2009 The sad site of a boarded up Community Centre Nearly 5 years of Essex County Council neglect has left the building in a very poor state of repair.
