To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Chelmsford and the NeighbourhoodFounding DirectorsRos Webb, Chairman - I first became involved in community work when my daughters belonged to the local Brownie Pack. I began as a helper and eventually became Brown Owl. For a considerable number of years I was an elected member of Springfield Parish Council. During my time as Chairman I headed up the committee which was responsible for acquisition of the land together with the tendering and building process of the now very successful Springfield Parish Centre. In 1998 I became a Trustee of the Chelmsford YMCA and I am still on the Board. I am also Vice Chairman of the Friends of Chelmsford Museums and Chairman of the Susan Trust which is raising money for the restoration of the last remaining barge purpose built for service on the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation.Mark Springett, Deputy Chairman - I have lived on Moulsham Lodge for 24 years, nearly all my married life. In that time my wife and I have brought up 2 daughters who have both attended the local Moulsham Schools through Infant to Senior - In their early years they both attended Toddler Groups at the Community Centre, and still have friends to this day from their time there and my eldest is now nearly 21! I was previously on the PTA of the Infant School, during which after one really successful event we provided the Gazebo that now sits just off the playground. I have worked in Chelmsford all my working life, most of it for “Marconi” or under one of it’s many changes of name, now SELEX or BAE I am currently in a Sales & Marketing role. The Community Centre has an important part to play for of all our residents, providing facilities that both support and enhance our daily lives.Linda Mascot, Vice Chairman I am a Learning Support Assistant, specialising in children with Special Educational Needs at a Junior school in Great Baddow and have lived on Tile Kiln for the past 19 years. I was brought up on Moulsham Lodge (My parents still live there) and my six children have all gone to the Moulsham Schools. I have been joint Chairman of the Tile Kiln Residents' Association for the past fiive years and regularly take part in Community Speedwatch and projects for the Neighbourhood Environmental Action Team (NEAT), which mainly consist of planting trees and bulbs locally on communal land. Lorna Fuller, Vice Chairman I have been running Parent and Toddler groups now for 6 years and love every minute of it. I have been involved in various community groups ie, Parent Association for Moulsham Infant School (S.M.I.L.E) I am on the committee for Little Acorns Pre- School and always try to get involved in local events within the area. The reason why I have joined the Moulsham Lodge Community Action Group is that I feel there is a strong community atmosphere in the area and strongly believe that a community centre is absolutely necessary to fulfil the needs of the whole area.
